Our Mission:

Dismas House provides practical support for carefully screened, motivated former offenders paroled from Tennessee prisons and/or jails.  By faciliating the process of developing the re-entry and re-socialization skills necessary, residents of Dismas House have a greater chance of becoming independant, productive members of the community.  Lacking these skills adds to the many other challenges that result from incarceration (censured by society, unemployment, estranged from, or absence of suppotive family systems, etc.) and they are more to return to their criminal lifestyle. Dismas House was created to encourage a safe and wholesome life for former offenders as they re-enter into the community.  Dismas values the dignity of individuals and that, as such, wew believe individuals are entitled to be treated with respect and compassion.
